The origin of the Therapeutic Nutrition Techniques Department
The Department of Therapeutic Nutrition Techniques was established in 2025 to serve as a primary source for preparing qualified technical staff for the health sector and the private sector. The department aims to provide students with the scientific and practical skills required to design nutritional programs, assess nutritional status, and understand the relationship between food and public health, in line with modern medical systems and health safety standards.
During the two-year study period, students undertake specialized courses that integrate medical and nutritional sciences, such as Human Nutrition, Food Chemistry, Clinical Nutrition, and Management of Nutritional Units. This is in addition to training on computer applications and electronic systems used for nutritional data analysis and meal planning.
The department qualifies its graduates to work as Technical Assistants in Therapeutic Nutrition. Graduates possess the ability to supervise the preparation of balanced meals, provide nutritional guidance to patients, and monitor the implementation of dietary plans according to health regulations. To ensure practical proficiency, students undergo intensive field training in specialized hospitals and centers to enhance their clinical skills before graduation and the attainment of a Technical Diploma.
