The Department of Therapeutic Nutrition Technologies at Al-Nimrud Technical Institute held a specialized workshop titled “Drop of Hope: Sustainable Water Management for a Dignified Life.” The session was led by Dr. Asaad Ibrahim Mustafa, Dr. Waddah Thabet Abd, and Asst. Lect. Sara Mohammed Ali.
The workshop addressed the critical role of water resources in achieving sustainable development and food security, particularly amidst global climate change. Key objectives included:
Raising awareness on the importance of water conservation within the academic and local communities.
Integrating sustainability concepts into the university’s academic and research plans.
Capacity building for staff in modern water resource management techniques.
The workshop concluded with recommendations to align academic activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 6), support research on smart
irrigation, and foster community partnerships to preserve water resources for future generations.
